Camera
WattPose needs access to the camera. Every frame is analysed on the device by Google ML Kit to detect body landmarks. Camera images are never stored or transmitted.
Your sessions
Metrics, skeleton points and statistics of your rides are stored in a database inside the app on your device. They are not uploaded. Deleting the app deletes this data too.
Google ML Kit
Pose detection uses Google ML Kit. ML Kit processes camera images on the device. According to Google, ML Kit may send technical data to Google, such as API performance and usage metrics and device and app information, and occasionally fetch updates. Camera images and posture data are not part of it.
Smart trainers, sensors and FIT files
If you connect a smart trainer, the app receives power, cadence and speed directly from the trainer over Bluetooth.
The device's motion sensors are used to check the camera's tilt. These values are not stored.
If you import a FIT file, the app reads it on the device and matches its power data to the right session.
Sharing, export and voice cues
Form card, highlight video and bike-fit report are created on the device. They are only passed on when you send them to another app from the share sheet. That app's privacy terms then apply.
Voice cues are generated by iOS on the device.
Bug reports
"Report a bug" opens your email app with a prepared report. It contains your description, the app version, the platform and the iOS version. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
No account, no ads, no tracking
WattPose has no user account, shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking tools.

This website is served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When you visit, GitHub processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the page and protect it from abuse.
The website sets no cookies and uses no tracking. Fonts and images load from the same address as the page. If you switch the language, your browser remembers that choice locally (localStorage); it is not transmitted.

Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You can delete the data in the app yourself at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
